Summary:
The Attorney Network Manager will be responsible for driving the performance of attorney firms and foreclosure trustees within SMS’s Secured Legal Services network. Responsibilities will also include directly managing the Attorney Network Coordinator(s). This individual will collaborate externally with their assigned firms, and internally with Legal Services Operations, Corporate Legal/Compliance, External Audit and others to identify areas of opportunity, firm placements and performance.

Responsibilities:
  • Manages and mentors a network of attorney firms and foreclosure trustees, with a primary focus on maximizing attorney scorecard performance while maintaining an effective partnership.
  • Responsible for managing and setting appropriate SMART goals for the Attorney Network Coordinator(s)
  • Responsible for delivering semester reviews and performance coachings when necessary as it pertains to the Attorney Network Coordinator(s).
  • Oversees the attorney monthly scorecards and holds process and maintains regular performance calls with network of active firms.
  • Develops, enhances, implements and maintains a deep understanding of all performance metrics and scorecard methodologies.
  • Develops and maintains a strong understanding of the attorney manual, including a deep understanding of file exception reporting and legal account workflow.
  • Examines servicer and state performance regularly and champions strategy action plans on identified areas of opportunity.
  • Evaluates potential, new servicer capabilities to ensure their core competencies are in line with our business needs.
  • Manages the new firm boarding process, geared at preparing firms to comply with our policies and procedures.
  • Assists in the off-boarding process of servicers.
  • Works with Legal Services Operations teams to provide scorecard expertise, performance metrics, and guidance on how to handle difficult situations with internal and external customers.
  • Follows industry trends and works with Corporate Legal, Collections, Loss Mit, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure and REO operations teams to ensure that processes and procedures comply with federal and state regulations.
  • Coordinates efforts with Corporate Legal, Quality Assurance and External Audit teams to evaluate efficacy of internal and external process controls.
  • Collaborates with Legal Services Operations, Corporate Legal/Compliance and External Auditor to formulate a periodic, comprehensive risk assessment of law firms and foreclosure trustees.
  • Identifies, protects and maintains internal and industry resources that are critical to business operations.
  • Conducts ongoing risk analysis such as compliance with federal and state laws, regulatory agencies, third-party clients, and directs the audit team towards any high risk items.
  • Performs detailed, due diligence on issues prior to sharing findings with an audience.
  • Communicate findings regularly to executive management team.

Qualifications/Skills:
  • Working knowledge of foreclosure and bankruptcy proceedings as well as internal legal services operations
  • Strong organizational and communication skills required
  • Advanced project management skills
  • Experience managing people is a plus
  • Must be flexible to changing priorities, project scopes, and deadlines
  • Highly proficient in MS Office package, including Excel, PowerPoint and Visio
  • Up to 50% travel (required)

Educational Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • JD preferred
